What  Gates of Darkness/Empire of Darkness is:

A place where you can socialize with others who love the game and with whom you can have fun flying. Although it was started and continues to be a social group, there is room enough within the structure for however large or small a group are interested in the Sector Conquest portion of the game or whatever other endgame scenarios come up in the future.
Corp Rules

1. Real Life comes first always.. we all have one and most of us have some kind of obligations.

2. Politeness is a requirement amongst all members. If you don't like someone and can't  find anything nice to say to them, it would be better to say nothing than to start an argument. If you truly have a problem with someone, you can take it to an officer or the CEO and ask them to mediate. Please remember to be polite in your dealings with other players outside the corp as well. Whatever you do, as long as you are a member, it reflects on the corp as a whole.

3. If you are going to be absent from the corp  for more than 14 days for EoD or 31 days for GoD, let an officer know or post it in the forum. Otherwise, we have no alternative but to think you've found something better to do, and are no longer interested in belonging to the corp. There is no problem with taking a leave of absence for any reason, so long as you let us know you'll be away.

4.It is not only the officers and the CEO who can make squads and invite people to them. Please feel free to make a squad and ask others to join whenever you are on. Flying in a squad builds teamwork and makes it more likely you'll have a chance to win the game. From experience in playing this and similar games, we have seen that the players who squad with others improve faster than those who fly alone. It's also a lot more fun!

5. Officers or those wishing to be one must be 18 or over. Since we use teamspeak 3 for squadding, an officer must have a mic or headset and have teamspeak installed. Most importantly, an officer is supposed to be willing to help everyone in the corp, in particular those on a lower level. This may mean squadding with new members who are just starting out or if so inclined, holding practices so that those interested can improve their tactics and strategy.

6. Members are encouraged to register on our website so that they can stay on top of what is going on in the corp. All training and practice sessions will be posted on the forum, and it is very helpful if those interested post an answer to things like this, stating what times are good for them. We also try to post useful information links and videos on the website as well.

7. If a person is asked to leave the corps or is booted for inactivity, a brief note will be mailed to the member in the game beforehand, explaining why the action was taken.
